"FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS"

In the book of Esther we read, "Who knoweth whether thou art come unto the kingdom for such a time as this?" Shortly after I came to Christian Science for help, I found employment on the railroad as a locomotive fireman. This position came in direct answer to prayer, and as such I gladly took up the work, performing the duties to the best of my ability. As I gained understanding, I applied Christian Science to the problems which came up in connection with my work, and many striking proofs of God's power were shown in demonstration.

Often I was enabled to prove the omnipotence of Mind, when confronted with adverse conditions due to defective motive power or a poor grade of fuel. Many times I was able to make the demonstration and bring my train in on time when it was seemingly impossible to do so; and in working with engineers who held the repulation of being ill-tempered and disagreeable I often realized the truth that Mrs. Eddy so beautifully expresses on page 389 of "Miscellaneous Writings,"—
