Two years and a half ago my husband and myself...

Two years and a half ago my husband and myself became somewhat interested in Christian Science, and since then we have been actively interested. Many minor ills have been met and overcome by our own knowledge of God, gained through Christian Science, and we have been blessed by the help of practitioners at various times. I had often wished that I might experience a sudden healing, feeling that I would thus know God in a clearer way than before. Now I know that Truth was all about me, but I was not willing to recognize it; I wanted it to come to me in a startling way, and I got it.

Our baby, two and a half years old, fell down the cellar stairs, striking on her temple on the cement floor. When my husband reached her she was unconscious. She was put into my arms absolutely limp and seemed beyond help. The fear was great, but I declared the truth over and over, striving to realize that God is Life and that His child is perfect and indestructible. My husband felt that we must have help, and rushed across the street to telephone into New York city, twenty-five miles away, but before he returned the little one opened her eyes, pushed out her arms, slipped to the floor and stood erect. Instantly all fear vanished, and I knew the healing work was done. She vomited several times, but was perfectly comfortable and sat quietly in my lap. This was late in the afternoon, and by nine o'clock that night the discoloration had entirely disappeared. The child slept soundly all night and was perfectly normal, and there were no after ill effects.

My gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for what she has given to the world, for making it possible for us to know our Father-Mother God, is unbounded.
