It is with the deepest sense of gratitude that I tell what Christian Science has done for me, but an item only can be told. To me it has revealed a perfect, unchanging God. It has lifted me from the darkness of disease to the brightness of health, and I stand a living monument to Christian Science. From infancy I was greatly troubled with rheumatism, at times was perfectly helpless, and am now very grateful to be free from it. Although I had been a church-member for years, I did not understand the Bible. I had united with the church in the expectation of being enlightened on the Scriptures, but I did not gain this knowledge until I studied the Bible in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

After the birth of my first child I suffered from blood-poisoning, fever, and lung trouble. Physicians gave me up, and said I was dying; but I rallied. The next physician who was called said that if I recovered I would always be an invalid, as nervous and other diseases, also heart trouble, seemingly held me in a terrible condition. Five years later, when our second child was born, I set prejudice aside and accepted Christian Science. My healing was slow, as I had much to undo, but with earnest study I gained a spiritual understanding which was worth more to me than this world could give. Three years later our youngest child was born under Christian Science treatment. I realized no pain, helped to care for the little visitor, and to the material senses acted as my own physician. There was no one in the house with me at the time but a sister, who was a student of Christian Science. We sent for my husband, who came at once, and he asked me if I wanted a physician. I said that we already had the best physician, and it was then we three realized as never before that we had the only physician. I did not remain in bed a day, but ate as usual with my family.

I find this truth of much help in bringing up the children; it is truly an ever-present help. I could get along without my daily food better than without my daily study, and there are about twenty of my nearest relatives who are now faithfully studying this new-old truth. It would be needless for me to try to express in words my gratitude to God for these blessings, and to our dear Leader, who has so faithfully revealed this blessed truth to mankind.
