In or about 1890 I was suffering from various ills, bowel and kidney trouble, etc. I had not read any Christian Science literature, but I heard of a practitioner who lived five miles from us. I went to see her, and after she had explained the Bible in a very satisfying way to me, she gave me a treatment. I returned to my home, reasoning that if God is unchangeable, then He surely heals today as He always has, and that I need not be disturbed as I had been. The tempter came three times during the night, and there was a struggle each time; but the last was much less than the first, and I could truthfully say in the morning that I was healed, and my words were proved true.

I have since studied Christian Science under a teacher, and take all the Christian Science literature, and am proving daily that the Christ-way is the only way.
