[Written for the Sentinel.]

Thankfulness and praise abounding,
Hark the glad hosannas sounding,
Earth and heaven their welcome sing,
Christ is risen and doth bring
Healing to both serf and king.
Rise, ye sleepers, Love hath spoken!
In your hearts is peaceful token.
Sweetly sounds the heavenly strain,
Thousands shout the glad refrain,
In a consciousness set free,
Answering in sweet melody,
Now the Christ hath come to me.
Saviour, hear us as we sing,
Christ our light, our joy, our King!
In Thy love we dwell forever,
Ever thine, Thou gracious Giver,
Nearer Thy great loving heart,
Clinging closer lest we part,
Ever keep us close to Thee.
Shine upon us all the way,
Even all the darkest day.
Nearer, nearer still to Thee,
To Thy loving arms we flee,
In that blessed haven rest,
Now and ever by Thee blest.
Ever heed Thy gentle call,
Loving Father, Thou our all.
