During the spring of 1905 my husband and I were led into Christian Science through the healing of my father, who after many years of suffering was healed of a double rupture, together with other serious ailments, through the reading of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the loving help of a practitioner. Since then the various members of our family have been wonderfully blessed in many ways through the practical application of the glorious truth as revealed through the teachings of Christian Science.

When Christian Science found me I had been wearing glasses from the time I was ten years of age; the physicians saying that I had a severe case of malformation, but that if I wore glasses constantly I could probably lay them aside when I grew older. Every few years, however, I was compelled to have the glasses changed, my eyes growing constantly worse. Only two weeks before I was led to investigate this wonderful truth I had got a new pair. After two treatments in Christian Science for another trouble I was enabled to lay the glasses aside, and have never had occasion to use them since. This meant very much to me, as I am bookkeeper for my husband and have to use my eyes constantly, and I am indeed most grateful for this healing. For years I had suffered with a severe backache, was constantly under the care of the physician, and finally underwent an operation, but received no benefit therefrom. Later my trouble was pronounced rheumatic. Truth was, however, equal to the emergency, and I was entirely healed through Christian Science.

In September, 1907, I had a severe attack of fever, diagnosed by a physician, who at the same time stated that our place of business would have to be closed on account of my illness; but Truth again proved its availability, and I was healed in three treatments, being confined to my bed only two days. We are also very grateful for a demonstration over blood-poisoning, which was fully overcome; and for the spiritual uplifting gained at this time, for it made clear to us the nothingness of fear, that "Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter," and that "God is All-in-all" (Science and Health, pp. 14, 113).
