Three and a half years ago I sought a Christian Science...
Three and a half years ago I sought a Christian Science practitioner for physical healing, as I had suffered from rheumatism for ten years. I had little if any faith in Christian Science, but the different doctors whom I had employed had done me no good and as a last resort I agreed to give Christian Science a trial. Three years previous to this time a relative of my husband had loaned me a copy of Science and Health, but after a hurried perusal I sent it back to him, saying I could get nothing out of it. I had been a church-member since the age of thirteen, and had requested the pastor to pray for me many times. I talked to him of Christian Science, but he said it was of the devil and that I should let it alone. But his prayers and advice did me no good.
At the time I took up Christian Science I did not tell the practitioner of other chronic diseases of which I wanted to be healed, but thought that when I was healed of the rheumatism I would have him begin on these. Before receiving permanent healing of the rheumatism I laid off glasses, although I had been told by a prominent oculist that I had been born with defective vision and would always have to wear glasses. I was healed of a bowel disorder and also a supposedly malignant growth in my nose, and at the end of six months I was healed of the rheumatism. I had suffered with every form of this disease, but the worst of all was the sciatic, which put me on my back for weeks at a time.
My husband and two daughters have also been healed of many ailments.
