Less than three years have elapsed since I became interested in and took up the study of Christian Science. During this period I have been the recipient of many blessings. One in particular I take this time and means of presenting to the public, with the hope that it may prove a benefit to some other sufferer, and also as an expression of my gratitude and thankfulness for this ministry of Truth. In 1900 I became a mother, and from the birth of my baby, until cured in Christian Science, it seemed that I was doomed to a life of ill health. Poisoning, nervous and stomach trouble, partial paralysis, an internal growth, and numerous other ills, followed in such rapid succession as to leave me in a very short time a physical wreck.

Physicians from each of the different schools of medicine were employed on my case, with the result that for a time I would appear to be benefited by their treatments, but in each instance this seeming improvement was followed by a relapse, which left my condition worse than before. I was taken East to an eminent specialist, who stated that my condition was very serious, as complications had set in, and I was forced for months to live on a diet so light as to be practically nothing. Following this came mental suffering, when night was made hideous by frightful dreams and day a burden of morbid thoughts and misery. While in this physician's charge I received the best care and attention it was possible to bestow, and I feel deeply grateful to him for his efforts in my behalf.

About a year before I took up Christian Science, I was the victim of an accident which convinced my physicians and friends that I had internal injuries of such a nature as to render my case hopeless; but, as often occurs when hope has departed, a gleam of faith penetrated the clouds of darkness and despair, and faithful friends recommended Christian Science. For about a year I declined to heed them, having been reared by orthodox parents and being ignorant of what Christian Science really is; but at last in my extremity was found God's opportunity, and I commenced to take treatment. After about four months my long list of ailments had, like the Arabs, silently flitted away, leaving me a healthy and happy woman. I find myself unable to voice the deep gratitude I feel for what Christian Science has done for me, or to express properly my thankfulness to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us how we may enjoy so many blessings, by understanding and realizing that God, good, is All-in-all.
