Futile striving of mere imagination in the empty air of...
Baltimore (Md.) Sun
Futile striving of mere imagination in the empty air of unreal speculative dogmas and abstractions was not the method of the healing of sickness and sin by Jesus. What was the secret of Jesus? "The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold."
It seems to be the mission of Christian Science not only to unravel the mysterious secret of Jesus, but to demonstrate its true interpretation by marvelous instances of healing. By night and by day, on the land and on the sea, wherever there is a sky above and a world around man, every kind of disease, functional or chronic, is yielding to Christian Science treatment.
No intelligent inquirer into natural phenomena can disregard the wonders Christian Science has wrought by simply following the Master's instructions and example—preaching the gospel and healing the sick. Whatever higher criticism may destroy, it cannot deprive us of this priceless legacy of Jesus.
