While on a fishing trip I had removed my shoes and stockings, and stepped upon something which cut a deep gash in my foot. I did not think it serious at the time. but it seems that some foreign matter still remained in the cut, and in walking I was made to limp slightly. After a few days the foot began to swell, and I was quite fearful of the outcome when a Christian Science practitioner was called in the evening. The next day the swelling had disappeared, and the foot healed quickly, giving me no more trouble. some time later, while working around a new building. I stepped upom the iron top of a sewer opening, which tipped, causing me to fall heavily astride it, and thence to drop into the opening. There were some severe bruises, and fear was felt as to possinle internal injury, but after two days treatment in Christian Science I was able to resume heavy work without discomfort.
