It was with a weary, sad, empty, and useless life that I sought regeneration in Christian Science nearly four years ago. The acute prod which furnished my immediate necessity was sleeplessness. From a low altitude I went to Denver, bearing a persistent tendency to this trouble. Subjected to the mortal law concerning altitude, this tendency quickly developed into continuous sleeplessness, with its consequent suffering. In my extremity I sought the healing power of divine Love as revealed in Christian Science, and was relieved at once, resting normally after the first treatment. God's law was proven supreme, right where the mortal law about nerves made its strongest stand.
With this liberation there also came freedom from ever-recurring attacks of bowel trouble, and of incessant headaches, arising from the least provocation. Shortly after receiving two weeks' treatment, I discovered that glasses were no longer necessary, and I have not required them since. Before that time I could not read fifteen minutes without intense headache. Twice, with the gentle help of loving workers in Christian Science, I have been freed from wretched attacks of illness. Every occasion of turning for help to the Giver of all good has afforded me proof of God's power, for healing has followed. Divine Love continually responds to every opportunity offered by such seeking, and is thus proving to me that God is All, and infinitely sufficient.
The mental and moral regeneration sought is being gained step by step. I feel almost hourly gratitude for our Leader's illuminating words on page 242 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:" "Self-love is more opaque than a solid body. In patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant of error,—self-will, self-justification, and self-love,—which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death." In this paragraph has been revealed the mental cause of practically all inharmony, and I am learning the value of quickly seeking the Father's will, as His will is always expressed not only with perfect wisdom and certain power, but with tenderest love.
