LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

San Francisco, Cal., Jan. 14, 1909.

Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Beloved Teacher and Leader:—Thinking that you would be interested to know something of the work of the Committee on Publication for California during the past year, I enclose a copy of the annual report for 1908. I am glad to tell you that the editorial view, in this state, of you and your work for humanity, has greatly improved, and much interest in and favorable opinion of The Christian Science Monitor, which your wisdom has given to the world, is being expressed. The forming of two new Christian Science churches in this city within two months by members of First Church who withdrew for that purpose, is an indication of the harmonious unfolding of Christian Science in the city by the Golden Gate, and a preparation for further united action in church extension and building.
