[Written for the Sentinel.]

"LORD, I BELIEVE."

"Lord , I believe; help thou mine unbelief"
In every enemy, sin, fear, and grief;
That monster shadow, death—he fights as chief!
"Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!"

Truth's clarion brings Thy host to my relief,
Making each battle with the foe more brief.
In this fierce warfare grant me faith as fief;
"Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."
