It now seems hardly possible to me that one can read...
It now seems hardly possible to me that one can read the first chapter of the Bible, especially the 31st verse, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good," and continue in the belief of evil's reality. The scientific understanding will be given us as we study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Several weeks ago I was suddenly attacked with a sense of intense pain, and so great seemed my suffering that I could do very little to help myself. I asked a member of the family to 'phone to a Christian Science practitioner, and on her return she inquired if I would not like a hot-water bottle. At the time I could not in my pain explain to her that I did not care for it, but before it was ready the sense of suffering had been overcome and I was able to tell her that God needed no help. In half an hour I was sound asleep, and nothing more was experienced of this ailment.
This experience is only a little of the very great good I have received in Christian Science, and I am indeed most grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who has labored so unselfishly these many years to give us all the truth.
Mrs. Charlotte Molthop Vierling, Chicago, Ill.
