AMONG THE CHURCHES

First Church of Christ, Scientist, whose edifice is on the east side of Mount Royal avenue, south of Oliver street, has purchased the property adjoining the church, at the southeast corner of Oliver street and Mount Royal avenue. It is understood that a large addition to the present church building is contemplated or that a handsome new structure will be erected.—Baltimore American.

On Nov. 13, 1908, at a union meeting of First and Second Churches of Christ, Scientist, Rochester, N. Y., a resolution was adopted to the effect that it would be for the best interest and growth of the cause of Christian Science in this city that the two churches be united in one new First Church of Christ, Scientist. Dec. 15 this union was legally consummated and the new First Church held its first service in the church edifice, corner Alexander and Cobb streets, on Jan. 3, 1909.

Already this course has proved itself to be the result of Truth's leading. The brotherly love and adherence to Principle demonstrated in effecting this union have given a strong impetus to the work, and it is being felt and responded to by all. The increasing attendance at the services fills the edifice and there is every prospect of a demand for a larger church home in the near future.
