I have had many wonderful proofs of the power of Truth over error. Some time ago I suffered extremely with a pain in my right side. The first day I did not pay much attention to it, but the next morning my condition was much worse. Just about that time I seemed to have a multiplicity of duties to perform, so that I did not take the time to read from Science and Health or even to declare the truth. The result was that very distressing conditions followed, and I was unable to help myself. By eleven o'clock I was suffering intensely, and called upon a practitioner for treatment. The pain seemed to affect my stomach and caused nausea. About three o'clock in the afternoon I began to feel easier, and that night I slept like a babe—it was such a, restful sleep. The next day by keeping quiet I experienced no pain, but the practitioner gave me several more treatments, after which I was able to be about as usual. For the relief which came to me through this healing truth words cannot express my gratitude; but while I am very grateful for the physical healing, I find it insignificant as compared to the spiritual understanding which has come to me through my increased apprehension of God.

A Christian Scientist is daily reminded of the great light which has come to this age through the writings of Mrs. Eddy, showing the way to follow in Christ's footsteps. Step by step, as we discern more of this light or knowledge of God, the veil of darkness is gradually lifted. Every good thought, deed, and action is a step toward perfection. It means a daily watching and praying for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus, for only "the pure in heart" shall see God. Mrs. Eddy is showing us how to attain this higher thought through her writings—it is divine Love understood which is healing the sick and destroying sin, and that is why her teachings have been such a great revealing God to mankind, for they have been the means of revealing God to them; and for this knowledge we owe her endless gratitude.

I deeply appreciate the privilege of knowing how to draw closer to God. In the old thought evil seemed as real as good, but the understanding of divine Principle is destroying these erroneous beliefs. In Christian Science we know that God is Life, Truth, and Love—that nothing but good fills all space. We all have had proofs of His ever-presence and that He is a present help in time of trouble. The world to-day is deeply indebted to our dear Leader for the priceless gift, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings, which have established a standard so high that it cannot fail to be appreciated and receive proper recognition among the thinking class of people.—Mrs. A.
