I had what physicians called gall-stones for a period covering fifteen years. The attacks occurred at longer and shorter intervals, until finally they came every few weeks. The pain was intense, and nothing gave relief but opiates, and I feared I would become addicted to their use. My neighbors, seeing my suffering and the futility of medical treatment, urged me to try Christian Science, and finally I gave my word that if not relieved by morning I would send for a Christian Science practitioner who lived in the neighborhood. When morning came I needed to make good my promise, for I was a very sick woman. I sent my husband for the practitioner, who came and gave me treatment. I was helped almost immediately, and was up and around in a day or two as usual. Under medical treatment I had always been two or three weeks getting over the effects of such an attack. I have never had but one return of the disease. I went immediately to my neighbor for help in Science, and this time the pain left me instantaneously. This happened about five years ago, and to me it seemed wonderful that the attack was overcome so quickly. I feel very thankful for the help received in Christian Science.—Mrs. J. W. Mason, Helena, Mont.
