Having read so many testimonies regarding Christian Science, and having had occasion to see the benefits derived from it by others, I have concluded that it is a duty I owe the world to make public what it has done for me, as I am certainly grateful for the healing I have received in Christian Science. The first and most wonderful demonstration was the curing of the drink habit, which I had contracted when I was about sixteen years old, and which led me to serve "Lord Bacchus" for something over thirty years. I tried all the noted (would-be) cures, spending hundreds of dollars for the same, but receiving nothing more than temporary relief. I was then induced by my mother (God bless her!) to take up Christian Science, and after having about ten days' treatment I was entirely cured. I have not had any desire for stimulants since, but, on the other hand, I thoroughly detest them, and have ever since I was healed.

Christian Science has also helped me in other ways. About ten years ago, when living in St. Louis, I had the misfortune to injure my leg severely. After it was well, so to speak, the joint was left stiff and in such a condition that I could not bend it, which caused me to limp at times. One morning as I was going down town I noticed that I was walking faster than usual. I looked down at my foot and found that it, too, had been healed, and that I could use that joint and leg just as well as I could the other. I also found that both limbs were the same length, although before taking Christian Science treatment the injured leg had been the shorter. Christian Science has helped me to have a better understanding in every way, and financially my future is brighter than it has been for many years.—Dr. E. De S. Harden, Joplin, Mo.
