About two years ago my little girl, then three years old, was taken very ill. As we have relied entirely upon Christian Science in our home for ten years, we sent for a Christian Science practitioner, and as we wished to be law-abiding, she promptly notified the health board. When the doctor came, I stated the case and gave him the name of the practitioner, which seemed entirely satisfactory to him, and he placed a notice on the door. Immediately after this the violent symptoms abated, and the child improved very rapidly. According to the regulations, the child was kept in quarantine during eight days, though she was perfectly able, in four days, to go out. When the doctor came again at the end of the eight days, he remarked that the child looked unusually well, hardly as though she had had any illness.
