Having received so much help from Christian Science, it is with great pleasure that I give my testimony. In November, I907, I was taken with very bad throat trouble, which lasted two weeks or more. I had magnetic treatment, but it did not relieve me at all. I had not slept for several nights, so we called in the city physician. He made an examination, and said he could do nothing for me until an abscess which was in my throat broke, and that this would possibly take a week. He left me three different kinds of medicine, besides an opiate to take in case the pain grew so bad that I could not endure it. I was nearly starved for something to eat, and very weak.

I became so much worse that I stopped taking the medicine, having given up all hope of anything material helping me. We then sent for a Christian Science practitioner, and while he was sitting beside me I fell asleep and slept soundly for nearly a half hour. When I awoke I found I could talk. I sat up in bed without assistance, and called for a glass of milk. It was brought me, and I drank nearly all of it. The swelling and inflammation were nearly all gone from my throat, and in about one hour I arose from my bed, dressed myself, and ate a hearty supper with the family. The next day I was able to be around the house, and helped my mother with the work. My people were very much surprised and pleased, and my husband was more than pleased, he was thankful. Words can never explain how happy I was and how thankful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for all the good that Christian Science has done me.
