LOYALTY

AGNES FLORIDA CHALMERS.

Father, I look to Thee for all I need,
From these, my brethren, whom I aid today
I would exact no homage. Truth's bright way
Grows brighter when each kindly deed is giv'n
For Love's sake. Yea, this is the only path to heav'n,—
Gladly to work, and know that work well done
Brings God's own recompense to every one.
Father, all wise, teach me to watch and pray
That I, nor homage give nor homage ask,
Save loyalty to Thee, and for each daily task.
