It will be helpful to remember that Christian Science is not a new ism or religion, but is the religion of the Bible. Its teaching and practice is wholly in accord with that of Jesus. It is daily striving and succeeding in a large measure to obey the commands of the Master to preach the gospel and to heal the sick.

By the declaration there is no matter, Christian Science does not mean there is no body, no man, no universe, but it asserts that these are not material, as they seem to be to the material senses. Eminent physical scientists are now agreeing with Christian Science on this point, and agree that we live in a thought-world. That Jesus also held this view is shown by his declaration, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

Christian Science is constantly proving, by the healing of the sick and sinful after all other means have failed, that its interpretation of Jesus' teaching is correct; and this proof accounts for its solid, steady growth.
