It is nearly two years since I became interested in Christian Science. Since childhood I had thought deeply along religious lines, but was never satisfied with the explanations given me of God. I had suffered for eleven years with severe nervous attacks, and lived in constant fear of them, as each one left me more discouraged and miserable. I was troubled with sleeplessness, and stomach trouble with its train of ills also haunted me.
In utter despair I turned to Christian Science for help, though with very little hope of being healed. I, however, thought I would try it, as I had known of some who had been benefited. While my physical condition seemed hopeless, I was even worse mentally. A physician of my household, who had witnessed my suffering for years, made the statement that there was nothing in materia medica for me, as I had taken every known remedy for my ills. About three weeks after I turned to Christian Science for help I laid aside glasses, which I had worn four years, though an oculist had told me I should wear them always. Peace and comfort poured gently into my consciousness, gradually dispelling the darkness that had seemed to hold me in such fear and bondage. In about six weeks after beginning treatment I found the truth that makes free, and words cannot express my gratitude to God, and to our Leader for the many blessings received in this truth.—Eugenia B. Kremer, Louisville, Ky.
