I am very glad to tell of the wonderful help which Christian Science has been to me. Ten years ago it was first brought to my notice, and though it seemed beautiful, it was yet so far away that I could not understand it. Two years later, it was again brought to me by a dear young Scientist, who loaned me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I was healed by the reading of this book, after having suffered many years from kidney and heart disease, and from severe headaches which I had had from childhood, though everything in a medical way had been tried without relief.
Although the physical healing was wonderful, to me the great spiritual uplifting has been even more so. Christian Science has taught me how to understand the Bible, which had been laid away for years, as I could not understand it. It has shown me a God I can love, and know that He is ever near and a very present help in time of trouble. Like Paul, I can say that out of the darkness of despair I have been brought into the light of the blessed truth that makes men free. Since gaining a little understanding of this truth, I have had many and wonderful proofs of the allness of God, and I am indeed thankful to God, and to our beloved Leader, who has so tirelessly and faithfully labored to show us this new, true way of Life; only by striving each day to follow her teaching, can I show my gratitude. I desire to thank our Publishing Society and the many dear ones who contribute to the Sentinel and Journal. My greatest desire is that I may so live as to be worthy to be called a true Christian Scientist.
Mrs. Margaret C. Mason, South Pasadena, Cal.
