AMONG THE CHURCHES

The members of the Hoquiam Christian Science Church are preparing to build a beautiful place of worship on two lots they own on Seventh and L Streets. The structure will cost $12, 500 and will be of wood, with a concrete basement and foundation. The interior will be finished in native woods, and the whole structure, while of simple design, will present a beautiful appearance.—Portland (Ore.) Telegram.

So greatly has the Christian Science Church increased in membership during the past year that on yesterday [July 25] a lease was signed by the president of the institution for a year's occupancy of the auditorium in the Cable Piano Building. The old church on West Baker Street will be vacated, and is now on the market for sale. For the past few months the church building has been taxed to its utmost capacity, and has been unable to accommodate all of the members. Numbers of people are being turned away every Sunday. It was on account of this that efforts were made to obtain a hall until a new church could be erected.
