THE NEW PUBLISHING HOUSE

Mr. Chase's announcement, which appears above, carries with its simple wording a message which should appeal to every Christian Scientist. It chronicles not only a publishing house built, but a victory won; not only an efficient missionary agent properly housed, but a most desirable stability and permanency given to the publication of our distinctively Christian literature.

It may be difficult for all who are at a distance from headquarters to appreciate fully the importance of the work done by them in supplying the need of the Publishing Society, but suffice it to say that probably no other concern has ever struggled so successfully and so uncomplainingly with inadequate and inconvenient accommodations as has this Publishing Society. It is only fair to state, however, that the inadequacy and inconvenience have not been due to the fault of any one, but to the temporary character of these accommodations. Now that permanency has been established, great benefit will accrue to our Cause and to all Christian Scientists, whether they be producers or readers of our literature.

It is expected that the Sentinel of August 15 will be issued from the new building, and the officers and employes of the Publishing Society, who thoroughly appreciate the improved conditions under which they are to work, desire to extend their grateful thanks to the friends who in contributing to the erection of the new publishing house have made these conditions possible. Even more gratefully would they express their thanks to the Leader who has guided every step in the progress of the Cause which she has established,—to the one who, in bringing Christian Science to the world, has bestowed an unspeakable gift upon humanity.
