Christian Science consistently sticks to its premise, viz., the allness of Spirit and the nothingness of matter. Jesus said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing." Paul said, "The minding of the flesh [marginal reading from the Greek] is enmity against God." The fact that thousands of people from all walks of life, including ministers, lawyers, judges, leading statesmen, and college professors, are to-day accepting the teachings of Mrs. Eddy as the most succinct and logical statement about God and His creation that has ever been given to the world as a system of religion, should lead those who do not understand Christian Science to withhold scathing denunciations of it, lest they "be found fighting against God."

The exercise of a little of that charity manifested by the Founder of Christianity when he said, "Forbid him not," will do more to uplift mankind than bitter criticism founded on a self-confessed inability to understand another's religion.

We labor, stumble, suffer; yea, we cry,
Forgetting quite His answer to all fear.
Who has not, when the storm has passed, read clear,
God's promise written bold across the sky?
