AMONG THE CHURCHES

There are few prettier church buildings in the West than the Christian Science edifice in this city. It has been recently remodeled and now presents a most pleasing sight to the public. It is certainly a creditable addition to the city.—Merrill Record.

The corner-stone of the new edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, at University Avenue and Elm Street, was laid this morning, July 16, at six o'clock. A simple, prayerful service, embodying readings from the Bible, and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other works by Mrs. Eddy, was conducted by the First Reader of the Church.—The Champaign Gazette.
