It is with a feeling of love and gratitude that I write what Christian Science has done for me. I had been an invalid all my life, and for fifteen years was confined to the house, most of this time being spent in bed. One of my troubles was from frequently recurring abscesses in my head, from which I suffered terribly, being in constant pain. I also had severe stomach trouble, and the physician could only keep me stupefied with opiates. In this way the habit was formed, and for ten years I was never without the drug. In March, 1906, a dear friend sent me some copies of the Sentinel, which I read and thought over a great deal, and decided to try Christian Science treatment. I bought a copy of Science and Health, and had help from a practitioner. I read and studied the book, for as soon as I began to read it I knew that it was what I needed. At first I could not sit up to read. When I came to the teaching with respect to prayer on page 16 of Science and Health, I was delighted with it. At the same time, I had no faith that it would help me, for I had tried everything, and no one was more surprised than myself when I began to get better. All at once the pain vanished. but when I found I had no pain, I was surprised to find that I could not stop taking the morphine, for as there was no pain, of course I did not need this drug or any other medicine. I told the practitioner about this habit, and she gave me treatment. In a week's time I was free; in a month I was able to go all about the house, and in two months I was well.

I have written this with the hope that it will help some one who is suffering. I am daily more grateful for these wonderful blessings received in Christian Science, and am striving to follow in the way shown us.
