For the abundance of good which my family and I have received since coming into Christian Science, and especially for the clearer understanding of its teachings which I have gained during my two years' stay in America, I wish to give thanks. I feel that my only real gratefulness for the very many blessings received through a daily systematic study of the Bible in the light of our dearly beloved Leader's wonderful works, must be expressed not so much in words as by a daily striving to live closer to Principle, in order to "become a better transparency for Truth" (Science and Health, p. 295), and so be able to help others more quickly.

Nine years ago, when living in London, England, Christian Science was brought to my attention, and the study of its text-book, together with an honest endeavor to apply its teachings in daily life, has completely changed my consciousness of life and made me a better man. Evil thoughts in the form of hatred, selfishness, self-will, self-justification, jealousy, envy, malice, and revenge,—all of which produced a poor, suffering body,—have lessened, and are gradually being destroyed. In proportion to the eradication of these errors from thought, the healing of bodily suffering has come; and the truth of God, good,—Spirit, Love, infinite Mind,— as being all-presence and all-power, has been seen and felt. I was healed of blood-poisoning of long standing, also of the tobacco habit and a desire for strong drink. During the last nine years nothing but Christian Science has been used in my family as a remedial agent for every kind of physical trouble, and I have found it the greatest help and comfort in overcoming difficulties attendant upon the life of a professional musician. My heart goes out in gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for having been helped on in this beautiful truth.
