I wish to acknowledge my debt of gratitude for Christian Science
I wish to acknowledge my debt of gratitude for Christian Science. When I came to this Science I was practically an agnostic. I had been raised in an orthodox church, and for years tried to find comfort in its doctrines; but there was something I wanted which I could never find, and I could not believe in everlasting punishment as preached there. But, thanks be to God, I now know that God is Love. I was healed of heart trouble after three doctors said that I would never be any better, and that I ought to go East at once, which was nearly three years ago. I was also healed of uterine trouble, from which I had suffered for seventeen years, sometimes walking with a cane and crutch. I had in all four weeks' treatment, and am well. By studying Science and Health I unconsciously laid aside my glasses, which a specialist had said I should wear constantly and have them changed every two years or oftener. I have a family of five children, and do all my own work, which means a good deal, as we live on a farm and have a dairy. Four of the children go two miles to school and they never miss a day on account of sickness. They can overcome their slight ailments for themselves, and are not a constant care, for we have learned in Christian Science that it is God who "healeth all thy diseases." I have also been able to help others, which is a source of great joy, but my greatest blessing is the spiritual uplifting. When my first child was small I prayed that I might be able to teach her aright, but for eight years I seldom spoke of anything concerning the hereafter. In Christian Science I tell my children of the eternal now, and give them the Bible and the "little book" for their guides from sense to Soul.
I want to say that I was once among those who perse cuted Mrs. Eddy, but now I thank God every day for sending this blessed truth through her to suffering humanity. I cannot number my blessings.
Mrs. Minnie Renfro, Lupton, Col.
