I had rheumatic trouble in my knee for over a year, the pain becoming more and more unbearable. The physicians said they could not give me permanent relief, although they might by using strong drugs deaden the pain temporarily, but the drugs would cause other troubles in the course of time. I therefore refused to take them. After I had tried hydropathy, manipulation, etc., without effect, I heard of Christian Science through a relative. I decided to try it, and although I knew at that time nothing about it, I hoped to find healing, or at least relief from the pain which tormented me day and night. I was just able to limp about the room.
I had been treated by the kind practitioner for two weeks, and had begun to gain some understanding of Christian Science, yet the pain seemed to grow worse instead of better; but after that it diminished, and at the end of two months it had entirely disappeared. This was three years ago. I have had no pain in my knee since then, and can attend to my numerous household duties without any difficulty. Once I had a sudden relapse, but I was able to overcome it myself within a few hours.
I wish to express my gratitude to God, omnipotent good, and to Mrs. Eddy, who was His willing instrument to bring this truth to the world.
