Heartfelt gratitude to God, and to His chosen messenger, our beloved Leader, for the glorious revelation of Christian Science, impels me to acknowledge "the good already received" (Science and Health, p. 3) through the practical application of the teaching of the Christian Science text-book. Severe headaches, from which I had suffered for many years, and for which I had tried almost every material remedy suggested, without being helped, and which I had been told could not be permanently cured as they were hereditary, were entirely overcome nearly eight years ago by the reading of Science and Health, thus proving to me that the truth heals even when we do not fully understand it, for I was then but a beginner in Christian Science. I have been perfectly free from headaches ever since that time, and I am very thankful for this healing.

During the years which have passed since that first experience, I have seen nearly "all manner of sickness and all manner of disease" healed by Christian Science. Through this study I am constantly finding treasures of priceless value in the Bible; I am learning how to work out my own salvation, and how to love my neighbor as myself.
