AMONG THE CHURCHES

On the morning of Easter Monday, April 20, at seven o'clock, the corner-stone of the edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, was laid. Only the directors were present, and the ceremony was brief. The lot was given to the church people last summer, and cost seven thousand dollars, being beautifully located in the residential section of the city. The present building is to cost between five and six thousand dollars, and there is ample room on the lot for a larger structure in the future.—
