A little over two years ago I became interested in Christian Science...

A little over two years ago I became interested in Christian Science through the healing of a sister who had had spinal trouble about seventeen years, and who was perfectly healed in one treatment. This seemed so wonderful to my mother and myself that we could scarcely believe it, and although we thought her trouble would return (which it never has), I decided to try the same treatment, as I had been sick more or less all my life. I had nervous trouble, sleeplessness, and other ailments. My healing was slow, but I was really better and felt greatly encouraged. I still have many things to overcome, though I can say that much has been accomplished already. The sleeplessness is entirely gone, and I am very thankful for this help. As I read the testimonies every week in the Sentinel I feel very much encouraged. My baby girl, who is now eighteen months old, is a fine baby, having cut all her teeth during a hot Arizona summer without being sick a day. All the little ones around us were sick more or less all summer, but my daughter was happy and well all the time. I have had very little opportunity during the past two years to attend church, as I have lived in small mining camps in Sonora, Mexico, and Arizona. I have seen many forms of disease all around us, but they have not come near us. We relied upon the promise, "There shall no evil befall thee." Many men have been laid off and times have been hard; but while lack seemed evident everywhere, my husband has never lost a day, and the thought of ever-present abundance has helped us very much.

I am the only one here, so far as I know, who is interested in Christian Science. Many times I have become discouraged, but a kind, helpful letter from some Science friends, or a cheery one from my sister in Manila who was healed in Christian Science, has helped me to press on. I am thankful for the literature, thankful to all who have helped me, and most grateful to dear Mrs. Eddy, who has led us all into the truth.
