In Christian Science the love of God is so wonderfully...
In Christian Science the love of God is so wonderfully revealed that in giving testimony to my healing I fell that I should like to mention the spiritual uplifting first, as it was such glorious news to me! It was three years ago that I first heard of Christian Science. A gentleman called at our house, as he had heard of us through a brother at Birghton, and during that visit he told us of Christian Science. When he was telling of the ever-presence of God, and His power to heal the sick, I felt that God was indeed present and could heal me. I had been a sufferer for twenty-three years with rupture, and with large gall-stones which the doctors told me had been growing quite twenty years, and from which I had suffered intense pain at times. I was laid up for a long time with terrible sickness and for nine days could take nothing but a little water. I was given up by the doctors, so far as home treatment was concerned, but the agony was so great they gave me morphine and ordered me to be removed to a hospital for an operation. There it was found that I was too old and weak to undergo an operation, so I was taken back to my home and was an out-patient for three and a half years, the doctors saying that nothing more could be done for me. After that I asked private doctors if anything more could be done, and they said that at my time of life (I am sixty-six) I could not expect it, and that I must remember I was an invalid for life.
It was at this time that Christian Science was brought to me. It is no wonder that when I heard of Christian Science it was with unspeakable joy, and I can trutufully say that I was healed at once. The next day my husband could see the change in me, and I felt that I was healed. In three days I said, "I am quite well." The gall-stones were gone, the rupture of so many years had all disappeared, and I could walk or work as I pleased. But the beautiful light and happiness which Christian Science has brought to me are more than pen can describe. I fell I should not have been alive now if it were not for this glorious gospel of Truth, as explained by our Leader, dear Mrs. Eddy. This healing truth has also been demonstrated in many ways in my family, for which I am thankful to God and to those who have helped me all the way through.
