I now feel it my duty to acknowledge publicly why I am interested in Christian Science. A little over a year ago, when Christian Science found me, I was kneeling at the bedside of my mother, praying God (in the way I had been taught) to spare her life. While yet upon my knees, a Christian Scientist came into the room, and the thought of Truth which he possessed and voiced stilled the tempest which was raging in my mind and I felt comforted. He then asked if I knew anything about Christian Science, to which I answered that I did not; but his gentle manner led me to listen attentively to what he had to say. I was very much impressed, and the desire soon came to reach out for this great good which I could then only dimly understand. A part of my family seemed quite antagonistic, but Truth prevailed, and mother was put under the treatment of Christian Science, some of the present results being that she is doing to-day what she had not been able to do for fifteen years.

My mother's illness was said to be a nervous disease of a serious nature, and only a few weeks before Christian Science treatment was begun three prominent physicians had called it brain trouble and declared that her mind was impaired and would never be restored. Then, as she grew worse and weaker day by day, and her life seemed limited to a brief span, a very dark scene was presented on the canvas of our life. But how great the difference when through application of the truth this dark picture was erased, and we were given instead a bright, happy joyous one. Is it any wonder that I am interested in Christian Science, when because of it mother is again the pride and joy of our home? I had been my mother's nurse through many dark years, during which materia medica had failed to bring peace or even hope.

I have myself received many benefits since coming into Christian Science, which has led me to a better understanding of God and of our relation to Him. Much praise do I give unto God, the giver of all good, and thanks to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
