So much joy and harmony have come to me through the...
So much joy and harmony have come to me through the promised comforter, Christian Science, that I am glad to give a testimony of my healing, with the hope that some one who is in need of encouragement will be led to seek the healing and sustaining power of divine Love as revealed to the world in Mrs. Eddy's teaching. For several years I was subject to painful attacks, and when nothing else seemed to bring me relief, I was given an opiate by my physician. As time passed, whenever there was suffering this opiate seemed to be the remedy for me to use, until at last I found myself in bondage to a constant demand for it. Then followed nearly five years of habitual use of the drug. Sometimes the quantity taken was so large that the effect, physically and mentally, alarmed my family and friends.
About a year ago they decided to place my case in the care of a Christian Science practitioner. I began to take treatment, and soon the desire for the drug was destroyed. In a few weeks my physical condition had become normal. I cannot find words to express my gratitude for the comfort and peace that have come into my life through this great healing truth.
Mrs. Edna B. Merrick, Concord, N. H.
