Some eight years ago I was graciously led to seek the truth, as a last resort, after all material means had failed. I had been an invalid for fifteen years, and was ready to try any and all seeming means of help, having had eight physicians who used all forms of medicated baths, electricity, etc. I finally submitted to an operation with but little if any relief. At no time did the different physicians assure me that I would ever be a strong woman. I suffered an attack of severe nervous illness after the said operation, and continued to grow weaker, until as a last resort I turned unsolicited to Christian Science. My suffering was supposedly from neglect at childbirth. I was perfectly healed in seventeen treatments by a Christian Science practitioner of Eureka Springs, Ark., my former home. This is but one of the many beautiful demonstrations I had. I thank dear Mrs. Eddy, and all those who have encouraged me to press on, for I have indeed found God.—Laura J. Richardson, Seattle, Wash.

A little over a year ago I moved from Ohio to Chicago, where I secured a very lucrative position with a large merchandise house. Almost immediately I was afflicted with an alarming form of paralytic trouble. I took treatment with one of the best physicians of this city until Nov. 1, 1906, when I was advised to resign my position and go home for an indefinite period, at least six months. I did so, my parents home being in Hamilton, Ohio. There I took treatment until December with one of the most noted physicians of that city, the only noticeable result being that I grew steadily worse.

On Dec. 13 I was assisted of the office of a Christian Science practitioner and healed in one treatment. Directly I began to increase in weight, improve in health and disposition, and for the first time began to believe that life was worth living—a belief I had not held for the preceding six months. I returned to Chicago on March 1. and resumed my old position. I was informed by several members of the firm that they had never expected to see me again.
