I take this means of expressing publicly my heartfelt gratitude to God for His many blessings to me and mine. Until last summer Christian Science was unknown to me, but I am glad I have a friend who knew about it and was kind enough to tell me, as it has been a source of blessing ever since. Christian Science restored my mother to health when, according to the two attending physicians, she was dying of an abnormal growth. They gave her but a few days to live! According to their diagnosis the conditions were very dreadful, but she is now attending to her household duties, and takes pleasure out of a drive, whereas before she dreaded the thought of it. Twice this winter she has driven a distance of sixteen miles, and back next day, without harm to herself. I am glad to know that the Bible means just what it says; that Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever," and that God does heal the sick as well as the sinful. Through studying Science and Health I have been quite free from colds and headaches this winter, although they had previously been of frequent occurrence and very annoying. In January my second child was born, and I derived much help from Science at that time. A Christian Science practitioner was called upon for aid, and although a doctor came his services were not needed, much to his surprise.
My heart is full of praise to God, and of thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy, who has done so much for humanity through her inspired writings. That I may live my gratitude is my desire.—Mrs. Samuel J. Bagnall, Jacksonport, Wis.
