I became interested in Christian Science after being sick...
I became interested in Christian Science after being sick for about two years, and am thankful to be able to say that Christian Science has done for me what the best of medical treatment failed to do. This is the whole story in brief. I may say, however, that during those two years I spent three months in what is considered one of the best hospitals in Chicago, being treated by a medical expert on skin diseases without any permanent relief. I was sent from the hospital to continue the treatment at home, which I did until a short time before I became interested in Christian Science. After stopping the treatment recommended by the Chicago doctor who attended me at the hospital, I consulted a specialist in this city without any good results. This made me very discouraged and death would have been welcome. I even prayed for death, which I thought would be a relief, not only to myself but to those around me, because I was a burden to have about the house. When Christian Science was brought to me from friends whom I did not know at the time, this thought was quickly changed, to the satisfaction of myself and everybody else who knew me. I am very thankful to Christian Science for what it did for me when everything seemed darkest, and is still doing for me.
