It is with gratitude and pleasure I testify to my healing through Christian Science. Nearly five years ago I was in bed for six weeks, helpless. I called a physician, and he gave me morphine, and other drugs. He said I had rheumatic trouble in my hip and told me not to step until the pain left me. I became so used to taking morphine that I thought I could not live without it. Last summer I was again taken ill, and the doctor gave me the same kind of medicine. I was in a very bad condition—helpless and hopeless—when a friend of mine was led, as by an angel to my bedside. She said, "Why will you suffer so, when out is help for you?" I said I would do anything to get out of this condition, that if Christian Science could help me I was willing to try it. My friend once at sent for a practitioner, and when she came I knew God was with her. I began to feel better immediately, and the first treatment cured me of the morphine habit entirely, so that I have hardly given the drug a thought. In two days I was free from pain, and I got up and went to my sister's, also settled up my business. A friend sent me a copy of Science and Health, and I have not read anything else but that and the Bible. I am thankful to God that I was led into this light of Truth, for it has changed my thought entirely. Everything looks different to me, and neither tongue nor pen could explain it. I am grateful to our Leader for giving us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." God bless her in her work. If it had not been for Christian Science I do not believe I would be here to-day.
