If I should tell half the good I have gained by reading...
If I should tell half the good I have gained by reading Science and Health there would be no room in this issue of the Sentinel for any one else to say a word. I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but because divine Love led me to it. I have, however, been healed of female trouble of many years' standing, in fact I cannot remember a time when I did not suffer. I also had trouble with my feet, so that for weeks at a time I could not wear my shoes, and was subject to very severe throat trouble. I had tried many doctors, and took medicine continually, but without relief. The reading of Science and Health healed me! I had suffered from hay fever for fifteen years. I called on a Christian Scientist, and the disease disappeared in less than a week. Later the trouble appeared again. I called on another Scientist, and this attack was also overcome. I had worn glasses for twelve years, but with the help of a Scientist I laid them off and have not needed them for about two years. I can read day or night; sew, embroider, or do any other needlework without glasses, though not long ago I again called on the Scientist for help. I have also been healed of a very discontented disposition and spiritual dulness. Before I came to Christian Science I did not believe in the Bible, but by studying it with Science and Health I have found a knowledge that can be demonstrated. I have thus learned to help myself and others.
Can any one wonder that we love our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I thank God every day for her, and my daily prayer is that I may be worthy to be called a Christian Scientist. I am thankful for the Sentinel and Journal A Christian Scientist cannot get along without them.
Mrs. Lula Walthall, Crowell, Tex.
