AMONG THE CHURCHES

The members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, held their sixth annual meeting last evening [May 15]. A large attendance was present to listen to the reports of the officers and committees and to participate in the election of officers and directors for the ensuing year. The treasurer's report showed the church to be in a healthy financial condition with all bills paid and no obligations due. The secretary's report stated that there had been about twenty-five per cent increase in membership during the year and a very marked increase in the attendance. The librarian stated that the number of callers at the Reading Room and the demand for the writings of Mrs. Eddy had been greatly in excess of former years. A unanimous vote was passed, thanking the press of Wilmington and of the State for the uniformly fair and impartial treatment that has been accorded Christian Science at a time when sensationalism and misrepresentation are rampant.—Wilmington Journal.

By invitation of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Needham, Mass., the local post of the G.A.R., together with the Woman's Relief Corps and the Sons of Veterans, attended the regular service in a body on Memorial Sunday, May 26. No deviation from the regular order of service was made, save in the presentation of a brief address of welcome by the First Reader, who said in part,—
