While passing through a critical period of my life I endured much suffering. For about four years I had been under medical treatment, also made a change of climate twice, trying both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, but found that change of altitude made no difference in my health. I was finally taken to a hospital and given treatment, but without permanent relief. If the kindness of doctors and nurses could have aided me. I should have returned to my home a well woman, but when I left the surgeon told me he expected me to return in a short time, as he was satisfied that nothing but a very serious operation would restore me to health. I continued to take medicine several times a day for five months, and once more I was bedfast. I received medical treatment one month, was slightly better for a few days, but unable to go out of the house. Then I became worse, and was again in the same state in which I had been when taken to the hospital. I had lost faith in medicine and surgery, and did not call the doctor, but instead sent my nurse to a neighbor who had had Christian Science treatment, and she sent for a practitioner.

I shall never forget that first treatment; it left me in such a restful, peaceful state. I had one week's treatment at home. The fourth day I walked in the yard, and at the end of the week I took the car and went to the practitioner, climbing very steep stairs to her rooms. After the second week's treatment I was completely cured, and have now been four years without any recurrence of the trouble. I never had a fear that it would return, for I felt I had been healed by Divine power and that I would remain healed. While not yet a member of the Christian Science Church. I have been much helped by the knowledge I have received and am sincerely grateful for what was done for me.
