I was led to Christian Science through the healing of a friend. For about fifteen years I had suffered very much from chronic bowel trouble and the numerous ills which accompany it. I had tried a great many remedies without receiving any lasting benefit, and our family physician finally told me I never would be well unless I was operated upon. This I objected to, and I am happy to state that through the study of Science and Health and Christian Science treatment I have been completely healed of all my old ailments. While my healing was slow I rejoice now that such was the case. Had I been instantly healed I would not have considered it worth while to study Science and Health, as my sole object in seeking Christian Science was to obtain the physical healing. I was ignorant of the fact that to know God aright is health and life. I have seen the power of Truth demonstrated in my family in the healing of several diseases, and as a result of my healing four members of my family are active Christian Scientists. I am very grateful for this truth.
