I feel impelled to express my gratitude for Christian Science

I feel impelled to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I have studied Science and Health with the Bible for several years and can hardly imagine what life was before the light of this inspired teaching illumined the way. I belonged to an orthodox church, was a Sunday School teacher, but was content to leave difficult questions to be answered in another world. At first I thought the healing and teaching of Christian Science was simply a beautiful addition to the old faith, but I find that much rooting out and giving up of old beliefs and theories is necessary. While I did not study Science and Health for my own physical healing, many ailments have since yielded to Truth, among them catarrhal trouble, painful corns, effects of vaccination, etc. God is felt to be near and real when understood through the teachings of Science and Health; the Bible is a new book, and one can more fully appreciate the glorious life and work of Jesus Christ. As there is only one other interested in Christian Science in this town, besides ourselves, we are specially grateful for the Sentinel and Journal. It is my greatest joy to be able to help others to see the nothingness of the physical and moral errors which claim to bind them, and my one aim is to become worthy of the name Christian Scientist. A recent demonstration has greatly strengthened my trust in the one intelligence which governs every man. I had promised, after much pressure, to take a singing class, though feeling I was quite incompetent. The morning of the day I was overwhelmed with a sense of inefficiency and nervousness, but my sister helped me to realize that the one Mind enables each to do his duty; that there is no limit to man's ability; and before the dreaded hour came I was looking forward to it with eagerness. Although there were thirty women instead of about twelve girls as I had expected, all sense of nervousness had vanished, and the work is progressing satisfactorily.
