In 1904 it was my privilege to listen to a lecture on Christian Science. Since I heard this lectue, I have proven the truth to be my rightful heritage. During the time I have been studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, many obstacles have disappeared. For about fifteen years prior to my study of Christian Science, I was a roaming, discontented man, now I am settled, happy, and contented.
I spend the most peaceful hours at home studying the Bible and Science and Health, whereas in former years the Scriptures had been a sealed book to me, although I was brought up in a Christian home and was a member of a church. Many mental and physical troubles, including sensitiveness and melancholy, have been entirely overcome. Day by day as this glorious truth is being unfolded to me, and as I learn how to obey the commandments of God, my gratitude for Christian Science increases. As my understanding of Christian Science improves I am able to do better work, I am becoming less selfish, more thoughtful of others, and a truer citizen. For all this I wish to be loyal to the truth that constantly supplies all my needs and brings me nearer to the great heart of Love, to our Father-Mother God. This is but a feeble expression of my gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her noble life devoted to mankind, and I am striving constantly to be worthy of the name, Christian Scientist.
