In November, 1904, I was taken sick with great pain in the bowels and had a high fever. I was in bed two days, when a physician was summoned. After taking his medicine for a week, I grew worse and could not sleep at night, the pain was so great. Then the doctor said that medicine would not do me any good, that I must have an operation at once, as I had appendicitis. That day a neighbor came in and said we should try Christian Science. We telephoned for a practitioner, who came in the afternoon, and after the first treatment I began to feel better. My mother was surprised when the practitioner told her I could eat anything, since I had been taking only beef tea for two weeks. After the second treatment I walked about the house and in a week was able to attend school. I am attending Sunday School now, and am very thankful for Christian Science, and to Mrs. Eddy for showing me the truth.—WARNER SCHMIDT, Spokane, Wash.
