Christian Science has brought me more blessings than...
Christian Science has brought me more blessings than I can number. It is over ten years since I first began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. So thick was the darkness about me that my growth has been very slow; but the darkness lasted only for the night and joy came with the morning. When my mother told me about the dear one who was showing us the same road our Master trod, I said, "How glad I am that I am living now!" Life to me had been nothing but a dark shadow, and Christian Science was the divine light thrown on my path. Sensitiveness, violent temper, hatred, and to some extent selfishness, are the dark clouds that have been dispelled by this wonderful light. Now I can see beauty and goodness all about me, where before appeared ugly forms all void of meaning.
Not long since, while removing a large button from a garment, the scissors slipped and a point penetrated my left forefinger to the bone. The muscle protruded from the wound and it seemed so painful and severe that I was aroused to immediate action. In a few moments I was able to silence fear and realize the truth. The pain vanished and the bleeding ceased. There was no swelling, and the pain was entirely relieved. I am very grateful for this demonstration, as it was another proof to a "doubting Thomas." Thanks to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has given us the "Key" that unlocks the treasures of Spirit, and thus we are privileged to obtain the understanding that enables us to reverse the testimony of the material senses and find health and holiness.
I am very grateful for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church, and also for the much esteemed privilege of contributing to the present Building Fund.
